Google Search adds AR Pac-Man, 3D Hello Kitty, Gundam, and other Japanese characters

Be it Google search or Augmented Reality, we cannot deny the fact that both have transformed the modern world. Google provides solutions and enables us to search on endless topics. Augmented reality, on the other hand, interactive 3D experience, combining a view of the real world with computer-generated elements.

So, when these technologies merge, the results would definitely be unbelievable. Giving life to imagination, Google search and AR are together again. 

According to a latest report by 9to5 Google, over the past few years, Google Search has added several 3D models of many insects, plants, dinosaurs, animals, and other education-related items. In fact, the search engine again stunned everyone with its recent innovation. This includes Hello Kitty, AR Pac-Man, and Gundam with 14 iconic Japanese characters. 

So, after an initial focus on real-world indoors models, Google is now coming up with characters from classic Japanese games, TV shows, and anime to life. In fact, the main focus of these 3D characters by Google is to help people learn about anatomy, biology, and science. 

Japanese Characters Added by Google Search

The video game and anime culture in Japan emerged between the 1950s and 1980s. Also, that was the booming era for gaming arcades, consoles, comic books, and home TVs. However, not only in Japan, the most iconic characters of that time caught people’s attention, and to date, those characters are still popular. The following are 14 characters in total that have become highly popular.

  1. Ultraman
  2. Zero (Ultraman)
  3. Ultraman Belial
  4. Gomorra
  5. Evangelion
  6. Xi Gundam
  7. Gundam Penelope
  8. Gundam Odysseus
  9. Kogimyun
  10. Taiko Master
  11. Pac-Man
  12. Hello Kitty
  13. Pompompurin and,
  14. Little Twin Stars 

Google made 3D Kitty, AR Pac-Man, and a few other models available on the latest Android and iOS devices. You just need to search for them in a Google app or a mobile browser and then scroll to find the animated card that will invite you to launch it ‘in your space.’ You can also tap to play sound and explore different effects with Google. Some of them could be linked to YouTube channels for characters. Perhaps the best aspect is to place them in any environment to create videos and pictures of viral moments.
